Our Education Director Scott Balestreri has brought together a breadth of classes for San Francisco’s continuing education (CE) classes. 4 courses with 1 ABO credit each will be available to help independents learn great skills for business efficiency, marketing, and dispensing premium progressive lenses. Class size is limited to maximize this learning opportunity, and will be more focused then the typical optical classes you might be used to elsewhere.
Courses are designed to be taken together and will include 4 ABO credits.
Class 1: Becoming A Better Landlord: Optimizing Your Optical by Kayla Ashlee
In depth frame inventory management is discussed in this training. Within the hour, you will be able to assess your optical investment with a new level of confidence. This course will show you how to make calculated buying decisions and give you the ability to formulate a performance plan for your frame offering.
Class 2: What’s Your Story? ECP Marketing and Branding by Daniel Feldman
Brand Your Practice/Practice Your Brand
You have a plethora of knowledge when it comes to a phoropter or a pupilometer, but do you have proficiency in promoting your practice? This one-hour course will offer a 21st-century look at branding and marketing your practice. What works, what doesn’t, and why. Daniel will walk you through modern advertising principles. We will learn the importance of both branding and marketing. We will even laugh a little too! Most importantly, we will understand how to get more patients and customers through your doors and into your business.
Class 3: What is Compensation Technology? by Karla Maxson
This class delves into how and why most patients see better through personalized and compensated lenses and what makes for a better lens design. It is a technical education course appropriate for all opticians. Participants will each receive a copy of a scientific article from JOJ Ophthalmology, Free-Form Lenses: Why My Patient is Not Wearing My Prescription.
